Body transformations aren't the rarest of stories anymore as the internet has allowed positive stories of this kind to widely shared - and rightly so.
In the past few years, we've been able to report on stories about a bride losing half her body weight before the big day and actor David Harbour getting into incredible shape for a new role.
However, there's something truly inspiring about 17-year-old Josie Desgrand, who 11 months ago weighed 120kg, and has now dropped to 60kg.
Her story has been previously featured on indy100, but images on her Instagram page show just how dramatic her transformation has been.
Josie, who is from Hervey Bay, Australia, admits that she was a huge fan of food and used to avoid sports or physical activity, which led to her size increasing.
Although she could wear skinny jeans, she soon realised that she hated images of herself and decided to make a change.
She made the snap decision to cut out all sugar and carbohydrates from her diet and with the help of Body Coach, Joe Wicks she began an exercise regime.
Speaking to news.com.au, Josie revealed how the weight loss has helped improve her confidence and general outlook on life.
"It has completely changed my life; I no longer hide, I have so much more confidence.
I played a lead role in a high school musical last year, which is something I never would have done before, as I was so shy and embarrassed about my weight.
I can walk into any shop of my choice and buy clothes that I love. The energy I have now is incredible. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and just smile."
Josie now abides by a strict diet of small meals of nourishing food such as eggs, chicken salad, quiche, sweet potato and steak.
She also works out for two to three times a week for 20 minutes but she admits that cutting sugar was the hardest part of her journey.
"The hardest thing was my sugar addiction. Making it through those first few weeks was painful; I was grumpy, I was tired, and I wasn’t fun to be around at all.
I avoided going out with friends, I stayed at home and sulked. Then day-by-day it became easier, it became a habit."
Josie's transformation has seen her become a viral sensation on Instagram with her account now having more than 11,000 followers with her posts regularly receiving hundreds of likes.
This has allowed Josie's story to encourage others to make similar changes in their life while allowing her to receive continued inspiration from people around the globe.
Her advice though is simple; "just do it".
"My advice is to just do it. Start. Stop putting it off. Imagine yourself months from now.
It’s certainly not an easy journey, but it’s well worth it. If I can do it, anyone can."
