The Higher Defense Council, in a statement issued after its Friday meeting held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, said that "President Aoun gave today his directives to the security services' chiefs to maintain stability and to stay on high alert so as to prevent any imbalance."
"In preparation for the Rome conference, the Army Command and the Internal Security Forces presented their needs based on plans to combat terrorism," the statement said, dwelling on the separation fence on the southern border that Israel intends to build on Point 13.
The statement stressed that "the construction of such a wall is a breach of Resolution 1701. It has been decided that Lebanon takes all the necessary measures to prevent this breach."
It is noteworthy that the decisions of the Higher Defense Council remain confidential as stipulated by the law.
