Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, on Thursday received at his Yarze office US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, David Satterfield, accompanied by US Ambassador to Lebanon, Elizabeth Richard.
Talks reportedly touched on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, and cooperation between the armies of both countries.
The Army commander took up the issue of Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty and the current developments along the southern border, whereby General Aoun stressed the Lebanese position rejecting Israel's intention to build a separation wall in territory which Lebanon has reservations about.
On the other hand, General Aoun also met with a delegation of the Indonesian naval forces, led by General Edy Sofendy, in the presence of Indonesian Ambassador Ahmed Khazen Khamidi.
Talks dwelt on cooperation relations between the armies of both countries and the task of the Indonesian Contingent operating within UNIFIL in south Lebanon.
The Army commander then met with former Minister Elias Bou Saab on top of a delegation from the Dhour Shweir Municipality.
A range of issues topped their discussions.
