Maronite Patriarch, Bechara Boutros Rahi, stressed on Sunday that "everything we see today is a difficult stage, but it is proceeding with changing reality by democratic means, rejecting hegemony, and the process of change that began with the popular uprising continues."
Rahi renewed his wishes to the government for success, while presiding over the mass service at the Jbeil church of Our Lady of Ilige.
He added: “We hope that [the government] will work as one national team to stop the deterioration and confront the continuous operations that undermine the legitimacy and prestige of the state."
He also called for reforms in sectors, securing the school year with everything it needs, supporting private and public schools, solving the fuel and electricity crisis, closing smuggling crossings on the borders, and combating monopoly and price manipulation.
