Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi on Thursday visited the Civil Defense Central Operations Headquarters in Furn el-Chebbak.
Mawlawi addressed the civil defense personnel and volunteers by congratulating them on the tremendous efforts they’ve been exerting in the service of the nation, the community, as well as the environment.
“We stress the greatness of your sacrifices. It is our duty and your right to have your logistical needs secured,” he added.
“As for the issue of volunteer rights, I have taken all the required steps to swiftly reach your rights through the application of the voluntary law,” he added, noting the support of the Lebanese President, House Speaker, and Prime Minister in this regard.
For his part, Brigadier General Khattar, attributed the success of the Civil Defense to the extent to which those involved enjoyed their job and performed it fully and without hesitation despite having been deprived of their minimum rights.
During his visit, Minister Mawlawi, accompanied by Brigadier General Khattar, toured the headquarters of the central operations and inspected the modern training center, which was funded by the French state.
He concluded his tour by inspecting the mobile operations room of the Civil Defense.
