President of Amel Association International Kamel Mohanna welcomed at the foundation's headquarters UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka in a farewell visit before the end of her mission.
During the meeting, the pair reportedly discussed "urgent humanitarian issues in Lebanon and the region, including developments in southern Lebanon and the response to the people’s needs, especially the displaced from the border villages, as well as Amel's programs that care for them and ensure their access to their rights in partnership with UN agencies."
For her part, Wronecka spoke about "the need for joint action, for the benefit of Lebanon, and the consideration of humanitarian issues as a priority," affirming that "the United Nations will support all efforts aimed at calming the situation and implementing international laws and resolutions, including Resolution 1701, and that many countries in the Security Council intend to strengthen Lebanon's resilience and support it.”
Moreover, Wronecka praised Amel's commitment and dedication to implementing its programs and humanitarian interventions in Lebanon, especially in the southern regions, in very difficult circumstances.
“Every action committed to the humanity of human beings is a cornerstone in building a better society and promoting just peace and development,” Wronecka concluded.
