An Iraqi source confirmed to MTV Website on Saturday that rumors circulating in Beirut about some pressure exerted to cancel the scheduled visit of caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, to Baghdad are far from the truth.
The source, present in the Iraqi capital, stated that the Iraqi authorities postponed the visit for a few days only due to a conflict between its date and the agenda of Iraqi officials. However, they were surprised by the reactions to this in Beirut, especially what was reported in a newspaper about a conspiracy theory leading to the cancellation of the visit.
The Iraqi source pointed out that this annoyance complements the Iraqi authorities' annoyance with the way some people in Lebanon deal with the successive Iraqi initiatives aimed at helping Lebanon, as they meet them coldly and indifferently.
