MP Mario Aoun pointed out that the ministers of the Lebanese Forces adopted "a policy of obstruction" on the ministers of the Free Patriotic Movement.
"The Lebanese Forces ministers adopted a policy of disabling the ministers of the Free Patriotic Movement despite the understanding of Mearab and therefore the president's insistence that the post-election government is the first government of the mandate," Aoun said in an interview on Sunday.
Commenting on the Cabinet formation issue, the MP expressed his regret over the stagnation in the process of forming the government, in contrary to the optimistic atmosphere that prevailed during the appointment of Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
The deputy considered that the formation of the government was solely the responsibility of the prime minister designate, who must submit government proposals to the President of the Republic to reach an agreement with the latter.
The lawmaker stressed the importance to endeavor to facilitate the formation of the new cabinet in the hopes that it would revamp the dire economic situation.
