Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday welcomed at his Ain Tineh residence President of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Patrick Bernasconi, in the presence of French Ambassador to Lebanon Bruno Foucher, and Head of the Lebanese Economic and Social Council Charles Arbid.
Speaking on emerging, Bernasconi said he briefed the Speaker on his visit to Lebanon at the invitation of the Lebanese Economic and Social Council, and stressed the crucial role of civil society in the implementation of reforms.
Bernasconi reiterated France's constant stand by Lebanon especially at the current stage, underlining his Country's strong support for the "CEDRE Project."
The French official hoped that the CEDRE Project will be implemented as soon as possible.
Speaker Berri also met respectively the Syrian National Social Party [SNSP] leader Fares Saad and former minister Michel Pharaon.
This afternoon, Berri welcomed UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubis.
