Lebanese Army Command: Two armed men were killed in a clash with LAF soldiers in Wadi Hmeid

The army command said Thursday a group of gunmen aboard a pickup truck attacked an army checkpoint Wednesday overnight in the area of Wadi Hmeid in the outskirts of Arsal.

Two of the assailants, a Lebanese and a Syrian, were killed while the rest were able to escape, a statement said.

The army confiscated the pickup truck, and seized a quantity of weapons and ammunition.

Another armed group attacked the same checkpoint later in the night, however no soldiers were wounded in the attack.
