Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Friday warned that if the government fails to take the necessary measures against the spread of the coronavirus and if infectious cases increase dramatically in a manner that exceeds the capacity of hospitals and medical infrastructure, the LF will file lawsuits against Prime Minister Hassan Diab and Health Minister Hamad Hassan.
“If the government won’t take the necessary measures, and if we reach a situation-which we believe we will get to- that is a significant increase in coronavirus cases in Lebanon in a way that goes beyond the capacity of hospitals, medical crews and infrastructure, and people start dying on roads, we will file lawsuits against PM Hassan Diab and Health Minister Hamad Hassan, given the fact that we [LF] represent a broad popular segment of society,” Geagea said at a live press conference at the Party’s main headquarters in Maarab.
Touching on the measures that should be adopted by the government, Geagea called for an immediate and complete closure in the country, in addition to lockdown of land, sea and air crossings for 21 days to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
