UNIFIL spokesperson, Andrea Tenenti, told the National News Agency on Tuesday that the peacekeeping mission had facilitated the crossing of a Syrian national into Lebanon after receiving medical treatment in an Israeli hospital.
He indicated that the operation was coordinated with the International Red Cross Committee and the Lebanese Armed Forces.
On May 17, Israeli troops shot and wounded a shepherd of Syrian nationality in the vicinity of Kfarshouba, before they detained him and transported him into the occupied lands.
According to Tenenti, the shooting is still under investigation by the UNIFIL and the concerned sides.
