Former Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, on Thursday deplored in a statement the assassination of Political Activist Lokman Slim, calling on the judicial authorities and security services to exert utmost efforts to unveil the truth of this heinous crime and refer the perpetrators to justice.

Salam underlined "the sanctity of freedom of expression stipulated in the constitution and the culture of diversity, which has constantly been a feature of Lebanon’s political life."

The former PM extended deepest condolences  to the family and loved ones of the deceased, asking the Almighty to grant them patience and solace.
