Berri meets UN’s Rushdie, head of Court of Audit

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday welcomed at his Ain El-Tineh residence, United Nations Deputy Special Coordinator in Lebanon and Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Najat Rushdie, with whom he discussed the general situation in the country, especially the humanitarian and health conditions.

Speaker Berri also met with head of the Court of Audit, Judge Mohammad Badran,  Public Prosecutor, Fawzi Khamis, and an accompanying delegation.

Judge Badran handed the Speaker a report including the closure of 2018 state budget's accounts, and a special report on treasury advances and their impact on public finances.

On the other hand, Berri received a cable of condolence from Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, on the passing of MP Jean Obeid, mourning him as a national figure who devoted his life for the service of his homeland and in defense of  the  Umma’s causes, most notably the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, Berri cabled the Supreme Leader of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, congratulating him upon the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
