Egypt's ambassador to Lebanon, Yasser Alawi, announced in a statement that "As per the request of the Lebanese side, a new shipment of Remdesivir has arrived at Rafic Hariri Airport for the second week in a row, used in protocols for treating advanced cases of coronavirus. This falls within the framework of the aid bridge the Egyptian government has extended towards Lebanon since the explosion of the port of Beirut, and as a contribution to support the pharmaceutical needs of the brotherly Lebanon."

The ambassador affirmed that "Egypt continues to support the brotherly Lebanese people to overcome their current crisis."
