Caretaker Minister of Labor, Lamia Yammine, on Thursday welcomed Ambassador of Bangladesh to Lebanon, .H.E. Maj Gen Md Jahangir Al-Mustahidur Rahman, who visited her in the company of a delegation from the embassy to discuss the current condition of Bangladeshi workers in Lebanon, and the means to settle the status of illegal workers in the country.
The pair reportedly broached the problems that domestic and other Bangladeshi workers have been facing as a result of the economic and financial crisis in Lebanon, especially in terms of wages and voluntary return to their country.
During the meeting, the Minister of Labor stressed the need for foreign workers to receive the coronavirus vaccine as part of securing societal immunity in Lebanon.
