"The international conference does not take away the Lebanese decision, sovereignty and independence - which is already lost at present - but rather it extracts them from their sources and returns them to the state, the legitimacy and the people, to Lebanon," Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rahi, said during Mass service in Bkerke on Sunday morning.

He added: "The international conference eliminates foreign interference that prevents the crystallization of a free and inclusive national decision, confirms the state of Lebanon and guarantees its positive neutrality."

The Patriarch indicated that "the United Nations must find legal means to perform its duty towards the State of Lebanon, which is in an existential danger," the Patriarch underscored

Rahi called on President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, and Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri the necessity to negotiate and cooperate, in order to form the government.
