The Internal Security Forces General Directorate issued a communiqué today, in which it indicated that following information available to the Southern Investigation Unit in the Regional Gendarmerie Department about the circulation of counterfeit currency (US $20 banknotes) in the regions of Jbaa and Nabatieh in the South, investigations were launched far-reaching the identification and arrest of those involved (three Lebanese nationals) and confiscating the fake sums of money in their possession.

Upon interrogation, the arrestees admitted to promoting fake currency in a number of southern towns, and were referred to the concerned judiciary for further investigation.
