Finance Minister Youssef Khalil attended the closing ceremony of the project to support the modernization of the General Directorate of Real Estate Affairs in Lebanon, FEXTE, along with France's Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo.
In his address on the occasion, Khalil stressed that "sound land governance and management contribute to stimulating sustainable and inclusive economic growth, which is important for building a modern economy that guarantees property rights and supports investments with transparency on a large scale."
"One of the main objectives of modernizing the activities of the General Directorate of Real Estate Affairs is the organizational and institutional development of the Directorate and the modernization of real estate laws to improve the quality of service provided to the citizen and reduce corruption. It is not acceptable to allow the citizen from now on to be subjected to any kind of extortion, bribery, or procrastination in completing his transactions. Therefore, we will work put our every effort into enhancing transparency in order to preserve the rights of citizens and restore trust between them and the state," he affirmed.
