Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday welcomed at the Second Presidency in Ain el-Tineh the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, accompanied by Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Jalal Feirouznia, and in the presence of Amal Movement’s Presidency Council member Khalil Hamdan.
Talks focused on the current general situation in Lebanon and the broad region, in addition to the bilateral relations between Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Following the one-hour meeting, Minister Amir Abdollahian said that talks with Speaker Berri touched on an array of issues of mutual concern, whereby they affirmed the necessity of bolstering cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the various fields.
Amir Abdollahian reiterated Iran’s permanent and constant readiness to stand by Lebanon and help it overcome all the difficulties and problems it is facing at this stage.
Speaker Berri also received today the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, Major General Mohammad Kheir.
