Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Gebran Bassil, on Tuesday said via his Twitter account: "We had introduced a law to adopt mixed lists (men and women) to run for the 2022 elections, with the adoption of a women's quota of 16 seats for two consecutive terms starting in 2026 to secure women's access to Parliament. Abolishing the women's quota and that of expatriates and megacenters is a huge blow to the reforms necessary to strengthen democracy."
