MP George Adwan confirmed after the parliamentary session that "there is confusion over setting the date of the elections. It is not true that the Parliament set the date of the elections on March 27; instead, it made amendments that enable the government because its powers are to determine the date of the elections, and this is not part of the Parliament's powers."
"The Parliament did not interpret the Constitution, but rather a vote was taken to adopt a previous interpretation, and the President of the Republic's riposte was thus declined," he clarified.
