Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that what happened during the legislative session on Thursday was neither an interpretation of nor an amendment to the Constitution.

He stressed that the interpretation of the Constitution was the task of the Parliament's General Assembly.

"Interpreting the Constitution is up to the General Assembly, which is currently convening," Berri said in remarks during the session.
