Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rahi presided over Sunday Mass service in Bkerke this morning.
Patriarch Rahi said in his sermon that he hastened to take the initiative to stop the collapse of the country.
"It is not acceptable to see the accelerating deterioration without taking action. Lebanon belongs to all of us, and the responsibility to search for solutions is everyone's responsibility,” the Patriarch noted.
Commenting on the investigations into the port explosion and the Ain al-Remmaneh ambush, Rahi stressed that "the judiciary must continue its investigations into the port explosion and the Ain al-Remmaneh events away from any barter, politicization or sectarianism."
He also commented on the diplomatic crisis between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, and hoped that President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati would take a decisive step to defuse the tension in the Lebanese-Gulf relations, calling on them to take a decisive position in defending Lebanon and the Lebanese.
