The amount of fish deaths in the port of Sidon increased on Sunday, more than the past two days.
The Environmental Prosecutor in the South, Judge Rahif Ramadan, had called for an investigation to be opened into the fish deaths issue and assigned the Southern Shores Detachment in the Internal Security Forces to follow up on the case.
A fisherman in Sidon said, "There is no pollution in Sidon sea, but the death of this quantity of fish is due to the sewage that pours into the port."
