The Strong Lebanon parliamentary bloc held its periodic meeting on Tuesday, headed by MP Gebran Bassil, and stressed in a statement "the need for the government to quickly resume its meetings based on the principle of separation of powers."
"The delay that occurred against the background of the judicial investigation into the explosion in the port of Beirut is, in itself, a crime against the Lebanese, with no justification at all," the bloc considered.
Conferees held "the executive and legislative authorities responsible for failing to secure a social umbrella, as the government is responsible for the failure to issue the ration card, while the Parliament is required to pass urgently the draft laws on the social safety net and the social assistance for employees."
