Prime Minister Najib Mikati followed up Saturday on the fires that broke out in a number of Lebanese regions, whereby he contacted Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi and the Army Command to mobilize all relevant apparatuses to expedite extinguishing the fires and preventing their spread.
He also made proactive contacts to request assistance from neighboring countries, if needed.
Mikati also followed-up with the Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassin, currently present in the Southern town of Wadi al-Azieh, over the efforts undertaken to put out the huge fire that broke out in the town.
The Prime Minister also received a call from Agriculture Minister Abbas Hajj Hassan, who briefed him on the extent of the damage caused by the fires.
