Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh, the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, who handed him a congratulatory letter on the occasion of Lebanon’s Independence Day, from the Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko.

Speaker Berri  and Ambassador Rudakove also discussed the current general situation and the bilateral relations between the two countries.

On the other hand, Berri received Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, with whom he discussed the current general situation and the most recent political developments.

This afternoon, Berri met with former Iraqi Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi.

Among Speaker Berri’s itinerant visitors for today had been the Lebanese Chargé d'Affaires to Kuwait, Hadi Hashem.
