Health Minister Firas Abiad on Friday affirmed in a press conference that 80 percent of the people in Lebanon who have recently contracted the coronavirus are unvaccinated.
"We’ve noticed some nonchalance on the citizens’ part in implementing prevention measures. We seize this opportunity to remind people of the existence of this virus," the Minister said, explaining that there’s an expected increase in the number of cases - not only in Lebanon.
Abiad also confirmed that hospitals' level of readiness has increased by 30 percent across Lebanon.
"The Health Ministry is fully aware of the importance of the health situation for the educational sector and is endeavoring to secure vaccines," he added.
