MP Antoine Habchi, at the outset of the parliament session to elect a president, addressed Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri by saying: "The ball to implement the law and not to obstruct the parliament is in your court, especially since some of the obstructers are among the closest to you."
He added, "I want to allow myself to express the dire reality, especially in light of the presidential vacuum and the caretaker government," and continued, "If we vote with a white paper the vacuum will disappear?!" This practice only indicates disregard for the citizens who elected us.”
