MP Assaad Dergham on Monday called the Lebanese Forces to sit around a dialogue table with the Free Patriotic Movement to reach an agreement over a candidate to the presidency of the republic who would be accepted by both sides.

Interviewed by the Voice of All Lebanon radio station, the lawmaker said that Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati made a mistake by convening the Cabinet.

He also said that Amal Movement and Hezbollah bore part of the responsibility in that respect "because affairs cannot be run as if the situation in the country is normal amid the presidential vacuum."
