Former ISF chief Ashraf Rifi opined Saturday that Arsal town was intentionally attacked and caused the death of martyrs who are paying the price for the adventure of fighting in Syria, which results started to appear through violence and chaos striking the stability and security of Lebanon.
"This assault is suspicious; it targeted a Lebanese town accommodating thousands of Syrian refugees. Arsal and Hermel attacks should be referred to the judicial council in order to unveil the authors since both incidents require a transparent investigation because they shook the heart of the national security and aimed to incite sedition. The latest attacks share the same goals of Dahieh bombing and double blast of Tripoli mosques," Rifi said in a statement.
In conclusion, Rifi offered his condolences to the relatives of the victims and called the state on maintaining the security and on preventing strife.
