Former President Michel Suleiman lauded the General Security on the exceptional arrest of fugitive al-Assir, vowing that all terrorists who encroach on the safety of Lebanon, its military and security forces will face severe punishments sooner or later.

He emphasized the need to assist the government and state institutions in providing the least of citizens’ daily needs amid rampant negligence on all levels.

Separately, Suleiman held talks with UN Coordinator for Lebanon, Sigrid Kaag, urging the latter to pull concerted efforts to bolster global aid to Lebanon’s military in order to fend off imminent terrorist threats.

A cable was also sent from Suleiman to the Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, offering his condolences on the passing of his mother.
