Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil affirmed that "Daesh (Arabic acronym for ISIS) will not set foot in our community."
"The bet is lost and what is important today is defeating terrorism through unity and full perception of Lebanon's worth," Bassil noted during a speech he delivered at Free Patriotic Movement dinner banquet in Hrajel.
"Nothing good will come out of bemoaning the implosion of the independence," he added. "He who wishes to be independent must not base his decision on foreign factors but rather head to the Parliament to elect a president who can truly represent the people."
