Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil met on Monday with a delegation of the Lebanese Maronite Bishops abroad, at his office in the Ministry.
The delegation comprised the bishops of Our Lady of Lebanon churches in France (Nasser Gemayel), Australia (Antoine Charbel Torbey), Simon Faddoul (Africa), Habib Yuhanna Shamiye (Argentina), Abdullah Zeidan and Gregory Mansour (U.S.A.), George Bou Younes (Mexico), Edgard Madi (Brazil), and Fadi Bou Shebel (Columbia).
"We are here to confirm that we are in need of Lebanon, without which the Lebanese Diaspora would be lost," Bishop Madi told reporters following the meeting.
"We would love to return to our homeland," he said.
"The Lebanese, even if living abroad, are demanding their rights to citizenship," he added.
"Lebanon needs its expatriates; and they do need it in turn," he concluded.
