The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces issued the following communiqué on Tuesday:

"The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces would like to remind citizens that cheer shooting on various occasions could be a fatal phenomenon, which might also lead to the occurrence of serious physical injuries. This is not to mention this phenomenon creates fear among the citizens and causes material damage.

The General Directorate calls upon citizens, especially the parents and relatives of students who have succeeded state official examinations, not to exercise this barbaric habit and to express their joy in a civilized and decent manner in order to preserve public safety.
Therefore, we call upon all citizens, whether affected or not, to send documented information about the perpetrators of shootings (photos or videos...) and the places in which the shooting took place, through the ISF website or by communicating with the ISF’s Public Relations Division through the Facebook or Twitter website. The names of the informants will remain confidential, in accordance with the law.”
