Kataeb leader, MP Samy Gemayel met on Wednesday at the party's Saifi Central House with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis, with whom he discussed recent developments in Lebanon, especially at the security level.

As per a statement by the Kataeb's Media Bureau, Kubis expressed concern over the Lebanese state's laxity with regard to the control of  its sovereignty.

Gemayel emphasized the necessity of abiding by UN resolutions 1559 and 1701, noting that the state must exclusively control the decision of war and peace and cast Lebanon away from regional conflicts, as per Kataeb party statement.
