Argentine footballer Ezequiel Esperon has died after falling from a sixth-floor terrace in Buenos Aires in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Esperon was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Zubizarreta Hospital at around 3am. It is believed he fell after leaning on a railing that had not been properly fastened.
The 23-year-old began his career with Club Atletico All Boys, before joining Brazilian side Sport Club Internacional. Esperon had been without a club for seven months after leaving Ascenso MX side Atlante de Mexico.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, however, there is currently no evidence of foul play.
Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister, a friend of Esperon's who is on loan at Boca Juniors, tweeted an image of Esperon with the message: "Today your loved ones have another angel in Heaven.
"We will always remember you."
All Boys said in a statement: "All Boys is deeply saddened by the death of Ezequiel Esperon who played in our youth sides.
"Our condolences to his family, loved ones and friends."
