Industry Minister Wael Abou Faour met on Wednesday with UN Resident Representative in Lebanon Philipe Lazzarini, who said after the meeting:
"We discussed the economic situation in Lebanon, and the support provided by the United Nations to Lebanese institutions. We look forward to establishing the best means for international organizations operating in Lebanon to encourage them to buy Lebanese products, in order to contribute to solving Lebanon's economic problems."
"I briefed Minister Abou Faour on the fact that the annual contribution of the United Nations to the Lebanese economy amounts at one billion dollars. We are currently trying to run our operations by relying more on the purchase of local products," he said.
