Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Monday welcomed President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, at the former's Ain El-Tineh residence, in the presence of Lebanese Football Federation President, Hachem Haida, and renowned French footballer, Yuri Djorkaeff.
"We are in Beirut to kick off one of the most important sports events for the development of school and cultural football," Infantino said in the wake of the meeting.
He thanked the Lebanese Football Federation, represented by its president, Hachem Haidar, as well as the Lebanese government for the implementation of the project - in cooperation between both sides, as well as the Ministry of Education.
On another level, Berri cabled a congratulatory letter to Tunisia's newly elected president, Kais Saiid.
