The Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) announced on Wednesday that banks will resume normal work as of forthcoming Friday, following two weeks of closure due to protests nationwide.
"Banks will resume their normal operations starting Friday, November 1, 2019. Considering the backlog of work due to closure, it has been decided to extend work shifts on November 1 and 2 until 5:00 pm," the ABL said in a statement following a meeting for its Board of Directors.
"Tomorrow (Thursday) will be devoted to internal work to complete the backlog of work and to prepare to receive customers as of Friday morning," it added.
The ABL Board of Directors had earlier met with Governor of Lebanon's Central Bank, Riyad Salameh.
