Caretaker Information Minister Jamal Jarrah responded through the National News Agency to the news stating that Financial Prosecutor Ali Ibrahim had pressed charged against former Ministers of Telecommunications, and referred them to the Supreme Council that handles the trials of ministers and presidents, saying "the financial prosecutor has no right to prosecute; he rather refers the file to the Parliament to consider the prosecution, knowing that this requires the approval of two-thirds of its members."
He was surprised with the leakage of such news to the media, considering that the issue is purely judicial and cannot be circulated but duly.
Jarrah said: "Judge Ibrahim has been leaking news to the media for a while now, in violation of legal norms (...) with the intent of defamation."
"It has become clear that his actions were part of a systemized political campaign planned to target our political team," he added.
