Member of the Strong Lebanon parliamentary bloc, MP Salim Aoun, disclosed Saturday that "commissioning a new prime minister will be in a matter of days."
"The Free Patriotic Movement is supportive to a government of technocrats according to the constitutional mechanism, but the decision is not ours alone, because the other parties do not want to accept it and the President has no authority to surpass them," Aoun explained.
He pointed out that "Hariri has the desire to be commissioned to form the government."
"We want the protesters to provide names that satisfy them, because nothing seems to please them," Aoun went on, noting that he no longer sees the movement as one of demands, but rather a political movement. He accused "international sides of interfering in this area," while fearing that people of goodwill on the street will despair in the end.
"The situation is further exacerbated by the revolution," said Aoun, questioning why the demonstrators refused to hold dialogue with the President of the Republic? "'If they want a coup, let them go to Baabda and take the place of the President!" he exclaimed.
"The clean team knows itself, and never will we be in confrontation with our clean people. We know those who are interfering and we know their goals...We agree to immediately go to early parliamentary elections on condition that they present us with a law," Aoun maintained.
