A radical Spanish hairdresser is using a laser cutter to singe his customer's hair off.
Alberto Olmedo uses what looks like a blowtorch to singe the ends of the customer's hair, as it emits a bright blue light.
The hairdresser known for his crazy katana haircuts using samurai swords is surprising customers with this new innovative way of cutting hair by using a handheld laser.
Footage captured on January 29 shows the barber styling a woman's hair by hovering a laser flame over the end of her locks.
The woman can be seen sitting calmly as Olmedo waves the 'Star War'-style laser over the back of her hair.
She had to wear eye goggles while the hair cut was taking place.
Olmedo, who owns a salon in Madrid, says the technique is safe and means the hair to not damaged by cutting.
He said in the clip: 'We are not cutting with a solid material, we are cutting with a beam of light.
'There is no friction, no breakage, it is a clean cut that at the same time cauterises.
'This laser has the capacity to cut metal, but it is harmless, you have to know how to handle it.'
Olmedo is known for his outlandish hairdressing techniques as he also uses samurai swords and Edward Scissorhands-style razors to hack at customer's hair.
Last December an incredible video emerged of Olmedo chopped at a woman's hair using the katana sword method.
Earlier the same month another clip showed using a 'Wolverine' claw to razor a client's hairdo into shape.
He admitted his methods were 'a bit medieval', but claims it is the only way to get both sides of a haircut 'mathematically exact'.
