During the handover ceremony held at the Ministry of Public Health on Thursday, former Minister Jamil Jabak affirmed that "the ministry’s capabilities are weak and its budget is tiny," thanking the Private Hospitals Syndicate, "the main partner who cooperated with us and stood by us despite the difficult circumstances."
He also thanked "the Pharmaceutical Importers Syndicate, which continues to provide us with medicines, as well as the Pharmacists Syndicate. What we have accomplished is for the benefit of the Lebanese people."
"I said I will not allow any citizen to die at the hospital door and this is what happened. Despite the difficult problems, we managed to leave a mark for the first time in the history of Lebanon, as we were able to secure a bed for every patient," Jabak said.
Newly appointed Health Minister Mohamed Hassan, in turn, said: "The health of the citizen and the nation is the title of the next stage, and we will cooperate for that aim. We are going through difficult circumstances, and this is a test for everyone."
