President Michel Aoun received former Minister, Karim Pakradouni, at the Presidential Palace, on Thursday and discussed with him current political developments.
Afterwards, the President met with former MP Emile Rahme.
After the meeting, Rahme said that he discussed the work of the newly formed Government with President Aoun, focusing on the importance of giving this Government an opportunity, and not judge on intentions "Or else we would be destroying our country with our own hands".
"People have created an opposition, so let it be constructive, since MPs couldn't previously form this opposition. This is because national unity Governments resembled a Mini-Parliament which lead to disputes within authorities. Now there is a popular and Parliamentary opposition, and both need to play the role of advancing our country, just as the Government's role is essential in proposing basic programs, which are free from failure and corruption" Rahme stated.
