Minister of Information Manal Abdel Samad announced, in the wake of the Cabinet session held in Baabda under President Michel Aoun's chairmanship on Tuesday, that the oil exploration ship had reached the Lebanese coast and would start its work on Block 4 within 48 hours, in the hopes that exploration will carry positive results.
She noted that Prime Minister Hassan Diab had praised the efforts of Minister of Public Health Hamad Hassan in confronting coronavirus.
"We have a specific mission which is to save the country from the crisis," she quoted PM Diab as saying.
Abdel Samad stressed that "the measures taken at the airport are not rudimentary, and additional measures will be taken in the coming days," noting that "there is a decision to control air traffic and stop religious flights to countries where coronavirus has spread."
She explained that the Ministry of Health was keen to follow internationally-approved and WHO-validated measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
"The Cabinet also agreed to resort to financial advisor Lazard and legal advisor Claire Gottlieb to assist the government on the subject of international bonds and the restructuring of public debt," the minister declared.
"PM Diab has said that brotherly and friendly countries will not abandon Lebanon, and this is what we hope for because the collapse of Lebanon will cause harm to all those who abandon it," she concluded.
