The Maronite Bishops deplored on Wednesday the attacks that took place recently over land property in the Jbeil town of Lassa, highlighting the obligation to resort to the laws to end the dispute.
"The Fathers regret the violent physical and verbal acts that prevailed in Lassa lately," the Bishops said in a statement issued following their monthly meeting in Bkerki under the chairmanship of Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rahi.
"[The Fathers] expect the ongoing contacts to result into the respect of property and citizenship rights and the resource to laws to settle on the violation," they added.
On a different note, the Bishops welcomed the government's request to extend the mandate of the UNIFIL and to implement international resolution 1701.
