Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, chaired a meeting of the Coronavirus Inter-Ministerial Committee on Friday in the presence of Ministers Zeina Akar, Raoul Nehme, Mohammad Fahmi, Imad Hoballah, Michel Najjar, Ramzi Musharrafieh, Hamad Hassan, Vartine Ohanian and Charbel Wehbe, in addition to the Director General of the Lebanese Presidency Antoine Choucair, PCM Secretary General Judge Mahmoud Makkie, the Secretary General of the Higher Defense Council Major General Mahmoud Al-Asmar, and PM advisors Khodor Taleb and Petra Khoury.
After the meeting, Minister Nehme said, "We have been working with the commercial sector for a week to regulate the reopening of this sector in Lebanon. We have reached an agreement on a mechanism approved by the Inter-Ministerial Committee, aimed at immunizing employees from the contracting the coronavirus. We have a week to prepare for the reopening scheduled for Monday, March 1. From today until Monday, we will determine the commercial sectors that will be reopened. As of next Monday, the shops that will open must take the necessary procedures to be registered on the platform so that employees can perform the PCR tests. We are working with the commercial sector to implement the procedures applied to other sectors, such as supermarkets and banks. In the evening, the Minister of Health will detail everything related to vaccines and vaccination stages in a television interview.
