Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, delivered a message to the Lebanese on the occasion of the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The mufti asserted in his message that the country is not plunged into a constitutional crisis, but rather is a victim of monopoly, collapse and dependence on foreign axes.
Deploring the deteriorating socio-economic conditions that Lebanon is going through at the moment, Sheikh Derian pointed out that the faithful assume great responsibilities, calling for cooperation and solidarity among all, while ensuring aid to the poor.
He also noted that the country urgently needs an executive power, which assumes its responsibilities to parliament.
"Lebanon can no longer endure further collapse and destruction. Every day of delay in forming the government is a loss for the homeland and the citizens," he said.
